The most historical and oldest place in the Flinders Ranges is at the foot of Mount Remarkable, Melrose. Melrose was established in 1853.
Melrose is 269km north of Adelaide and is a beautiful drive and definitely worth the trip to see the unique buildings and the beautiful scenery.
Melrose is well known for it's unique historical buildings such as it's two Hotels and an old Brewery. If thats not enough for you go and have a look around the town and discover the other building's that remain scattered about the town.
Melrose is a fantastic place to sit back and relax for the weekend and it's also ideal for bush walking and bike riding on the most thrilling trails up the Mount.
