The Mount Remarkable Hotel Motel is a two-story pub in Stuart St. It was built and licensed by Corporal Thomas Moran, in 1857.
The Mount Remarkable Hotel was first a pine and pug building, a few years later it was knocked down and re-built as a brick building. The building is still there today.
Daniel Battams was an inn-keeper from Adelaide and leased it from Thomas Moran in 1860 - 1861.
The building has a balcony over looking the mountain and two single storey wings that form a court yard at the back of the hotel.
The Mount Remarkable Hotel Motel is now currently owned by Robert Beston and Jackie Baryczka, and their three children.
